Head-to-Toe Ruckwear

Ruck-wear isn't just about looking the part. The right gear is functional and allows you to improve with every step. Here is some of the gear we're using on our own rucking adventures. 

THE PACK 

If you're new to rucking, get ready for some sticker shock. You're going to be tempted to use some random $20 backpack you have around the house. We tried that, and it was a bust. Zippers broke, pouches tore; it wasn't pretty. Even if thrift shop everything else make sure you have a dependable pack.

THE PLATE

Honestly, there's no wrong way to add weight to your backpack. These however were designed with the ruck in mind and are conveniently compact so that you can store other things in your pack as well.

 THE PANTS

You can ruck in blue jeans with your buds, but it's going to get sweaty. Prepare to be nicknamed the Soggy Bottom Boys...OR take our word for it that true tac pants are the way to go.

THE SHIRT

THE BELT

With a pack on your back, the last thing you want to worry about is keeping your drawers up. Plus, a good belt gives you something to which you can attach more gear.

THE SHOES

Rucking doesn't impact the knees like running, but your feet are still supporting all of that weight. You need something comfortable but tough enough for every ground covered.

THE SOCKS

As important as a good pair of shoes may me, your socks are in actual contact with your feet and need to be up to the challenge. Fortunately, socks are what we do best!

THE HAT

Defend the dome with something sturdy but breathable. Here are two of our favorite hats.
